Zeng Li's inspiration for Xiao Mu Biao stemmed from the concept of life's various phases, each marked by its own unique goals. From childhood growth and academic success to professional promotions and familial happiness, Zeng Li encapsulates these milestones in his design, aiming to evoke a sense of resonance among consumers. This approach not only results in a visually appealing product but also fosters a deeper connection between the consumer and the product.
What sets Xiao Mu Biao apart from other liquor packaging designs is its unique blend of tradition and modernity. Liquor, being a traditional product, serves as an emotional amplifier, enhancing expressions and emotions when consumed appropriately. Zeng Li leverages this aspect, using vivid, youthful, and fashionable illustrations to depict the five important life stages. The result is not just a well-designed product, but a communicative tool that interacts with its consumers.
Zeng Li's innovative design is brought to life through high-temperature roasting printing on a white, uniquely shaped ceramic bottle. Spot color printing and hot stamping technology are employed on the outer packaging, further enhancing the product's appeal. The ceramic bottle has a capacity of 500ml, standing 26.5cm tall with an 8cm diameter. The packaging dimensions are 285cm in height and 11cm in width.
The design process, which spanned from November to December 2018, was carried out in Shenzhen. Despite the challenges in mastering the color elements for the bottle and packaging, and the time-consuming nature of the required technology, Zeng Li and his team managed to create a design that stands out from common designs. The design's simplicity and originality aim to attract consumers and enhance their cultural identity, reflecting the life situation of modern young people who are often directionless and without clear goals.
